attraction

for those of you who read my LJ and dont know, im mexican. i was born here, as were my parents. however, not all of my grandparents were.

My parents had to learn english as children. they had such horrible experiences in the 50's learning english, that when me and my brother were born, they decided to teach us english.

My parents raised me and my brother up in a mostly white neighborhood. we went to mostly white schools. however, as children we went to a church in the mexican part of town. basically everyone could speak spanish there and the sermons were in spanish. me and my bro hated it. we never really fit in there. the kids there would tease us because we were "too white." we couldnt speak spanish, had no accent and lived in a nice house. it got so bad that one of the kids actually hit my head up against the side of the church wall.

so we left there and started going to a much more closer white church. the kids were tons more nicer. me and my bro felt alot more comfortable. but me and my bro never fully dug the church scene. it was just never our thing.

Even now, when my mom takes us to visit my grandmother in the northside of Ft.Worth (the predominately mexican part of ft.worth) and we stop to eat at a local mexican restaurant, we get stares. I mean sure they see the brown skin and the dark hair but they hear our voices and see our clothes. Many many times we have been overcharged and have been treated like we have some bad disease.

Now the only time i have been treated badly by a white person..was 2nd grade. there was this kid named Danny Bock. haha ill never ever forget his name. and he would call me chocolate lady. he was a real big bully. i told him he should eat me haha. later we got into a fight and that was the only time i ever got sent to the office:-)

So those were a brief background of how i grew up.

As far as attraction, Ive only been attracted to 1 hispanic boy my entire life LOL. his name was elliot sanchez. and that was in 5th grade.

Every other boy has been white. and has had a great sense of humor.

I do not wish to ever be with a mexican man. I see the way my father has been, relatives and everything. No. Now, im not saying all hispanic men are evil or bad or anything like that. There are tons out there who defy the stereotypical hispanic male. I however, simply do not wish to date a hispanic man.

Im also not against african american men, asian men, native american men, arabian men, or any other nationality.

But, white men are what im usually very attracted too. and of course, ones with a killer sense of humor.
