iron_and_silvergrrr. i had this GREAT lj entry then my fucking computer decides to bitch slap me:-( grrrah!
well i didnt go to classes today because im a commuter and the roads up to my college were iced over. in texas. haha. who would have thought.
i did email my profs. and they both understood.
around 3:30pm i watched a documentary on the beat poets and the generation in general. it was awesome. it was called the source?
johnny depp read Jack's work and Dennis Hopper burroughs. and Allen spoke alot. it was great. i also got to see Jack read his work(drools) and Neal Cassady. it was basically seeing Dean walking around..it was wonderful:-)
One of the coolest parts was when Mike Mclure was talking about how young kids come up to him with shaved heads or mohwaks or dreadlocks and ask if he feels corporations have steamrolled the beat generation. and he said he just has to laugh because the fact that that kid can stand there with the freedom to look like that and think that freely is them. the beats. they live on that way.
i loved that.
ooooo. anyone know any great beat/kerouac webpages? or know where i can get some great kerouac pics?:-)
