my brother brought up an interesting subject.
if the victim was willing and wanted this..and the murderer was completely upfront..was there technically a crime?
all parties involved were willing.

what do you think?

Man held for German 'cannibal killing'

A man has confessed to murdering and eating another man who allegedly volunteered to be killed, in a case that has shocked Germany.

The 41-year-old - who was remanded in custody on Wednesday - videotaped the murder, prosecutors said.

The victim, also in his 40s, was chopped into pieces at the killer's home in the central German town of Rotenburg, near Kassel.

Prosecutors in Kassel said the accused and the victim were apparently homosexuals who shared cannibalistic tendencies.

The German daily Bild reports that the victim, from Berlin, had seen an advertisement on the internet which said: "Seeking young, well-built men aged 18 to 30 to slaughter."

The victim, a computer engineer, then sold all his possessions including a car before disappearing, the paper reports.


The state prosecutor's office in Kassel said the man died from deep cuts to the neck. The killer then chopped up the body and kept the parts in his fridge.

Police believe the murder occurred in spring 2000.

They found deep-frozen human flesh, skeleton parts and video recordings at the scene.

Neighbour Joerg Paulusen, speaking to Reuters TV, said of the killer: "It was sort of clear to us that he had a different perspective on life than we did, but he was a normal person, to speak to him, drink a glass of beer with him - just like you and me."

The last alleged case of cannibalism in Germany was when a 33-year-old man on trial for robbery and murder in March 1995 claimed to have eaten his victim's innards, although his claim was never proven, the AFP news agency reports.

Wait! There's more to this story than you reported...heh.

Apparently, before his demise the *victim* agreed to have his penis amputated and the two of them cooked it and shared it as a meal before his murder.

But seriously. . .I'd really have to sit and think on the whole issue for a while. I mean, geez. . .if the guy agreed to be murdered and eaten, if he wasn't forced. . .as horribly immoral and disgusting and WRONG it may sound to any "normal" (and I use that term lightly) human being. . .should the guy really be punished???

This gets into all kind of heavy areas of thought. There would be arguments over whether or not it can even be called murder (the definition of murder is something along the lines of killing someone UNLAWFULLY). . .and then there is the argument over whether or not a law against murder is a law because murder is inherently wrong or immoral. . .or if the law itself *makes* murder immoral or wrong.

As they used to say on the Arsenio Hall show. . ."Things that make you go 'hmmmmmmmmm.'"

yeah thats wot im saying. i mean you could say no crime was committed. usually crime is something that one person does to another..that dosent like or didnt want that thing done to him/her. but it was completely wanted on both ends. wot they should have done was have a legal contract drawn up. but then again, i dont know how the german legal system works.

and your hair is so beautiful in person! ahh. now im slightly nostalgic for my hair haha. but its ok. i really do love it short. it feels so free and light. like a leaf.

ahh but see. why must he have a mental problem because he wants to be eaten. it was his fetish. there are all sorts of weird fetishes out there that involve pain or physical pain. he could have said no, but he chose to answer the guy's AD. and he knew exactly what he was getting himself into. the AD was very very clear.

no he did prey on him. he put an ad up and the guy CHOSE to answer it. preying on him would be stalking him or watching him for a long time. he did not seek him out. the man looked for the killer. he came to him. out of his own free will
